Jose Vega Obituary
Jose came to Lorain in 1977. Prior to moving, he started his teaching career in Corozal, P.R., where he taught for 7 years. He went on to teach for an additional 28 years, eventually retiring from Lorain City Schools.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain. As a member for 30 years of the L.C.C.C Civic Chorale he was able to indulge in his love of music. He enjoyed singing and directing and was known for his beautiful tenor voice.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 54 years, Petrita; his son, John (Edna) Vega; his daughter, Wendy (Andrew) Andino. His memory will continue to live on within the hearts of his grandchildren, Andres Jr. (Cassandra), Jon (Jessica), Christina (Austin), Daniel, and Ryan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be deeply missed by his two brothers, Hector Vega and Nelson Vega.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited Saturday, September 8, 11:30 AM to a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
Arrangements are by Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain (440)277-8164.

I am truly and deeply sorry for your loss. My warmest condolences go out to the family and friends. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring you comfort. John and Wendy, Sorry to hear about your father. I remember teaching with him at Lincoln my first year. He tried to help whenever he could. My thoughts are with you and all of your family.
