Joyce M. Carr

Joyce M. Carr, 69, of Lorain, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Joyce was born August 20, 1953 in Fleming, Kentucky to the late George and Sally (nee Anderson) Johnson. Joyce loved music, from Prince "Purple Rain" to all Christian music. She was an avid word puzzle enthusiast. Most of all, Joyce loved spending time with her immediate family , extended family, especially her nephew Chuck Linder and special lifetime friend Patricia Buckland. Survivors include her husband of 33 years F.W. "Skip" Carr, son Randy Messer Jr. (Sarah), daughter Gina Duff (Kelly), step-son Jeff Carr (Melissa), grandchildren; Dustin Messer (Natasha), Ashley Olivencia (Emily), Miranda Henes, Abigail Carr, Chloe Carr, Garrett Carr, and great grandchildren; Dustin, Jackson, Arieana, and Anthony. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her brothers George Johnson Jr., Jimmy Johnson, and sister Janice Carte. Family will receive friends at the Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, 3900 Broadway Avenue, Lorain on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service will take place at noon on Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Telepak, officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain. Joyce loved the Lord and anticipated seeing Jesus face to face in heaven.
