Julius Varga Obituary
He was born August 14, 1936 in Szilsarkany, Hungary. Julius came to the United States in 1959 through Ellis Island where his name was posted on the wall. He had made his home in Amherst for the last forty years.
Julius was employed as a machinist at the National Gypsum Corporation for thirty years before retiring in 1998. He also owned and operated GEM Janitorial and Window Cleaning Company for forty-five years. Julius was an avid hockey fan and a member of the N.Y. Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, and the Cleveland Monsters booster clubs. He loved the time he spent providing transportation for the Brownhelm Santa. He was an active member of the National Arbor Day Association and was also a member of the Autobahn Society.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Jean P. Varga (nee: Sadusky); his daughter and her husband, Sonia and John Del Gado of Douglas, Alaska; his grandchildren Murphy and Emily; his sister Irma Varga of Gyor, Hungary; and his two nephews, Danny and Les Varga.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Lazlo and Dezso; and by his parents Lazlo and Lidia Varga (nee: Koros).
Friends may call Monday, October 10, 2011, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Chris Robinson, Chaplain of the New Life Hospice, will officiate.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to New Life Hospice Center, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, OH 44035 and Back to the Wild; P.O. Box 423, Castalia, Ohio 44824.

words. Julius was one of the finest gentlemen I have every known, he helped me
change a flat tire at the office and we
talked hockey on every occasion. Let
us celebrate his life in everything we
do, he was a Gem just like his Company.
