Louella Braun Obituary

Louella Helton Braun (nee: Fitzpatrick) also known affectionately as "Big Lou" entered into eternal rest March 25, 2016, after a four-month long courageous battle with lung cancer. Her smile, sparkling blue eyes, love, and pride for her family will be forever in our hearts and precious memories.
She enjoyed a life of shopping, gambling trips, bingo, card games, family vacations, fishing in the great outdoors, and any time spent with family and friends. Louella also enjoyed doing some beautician work out of her home and was a member of the Lorain Church of God in Sheffield Lake.
She is survived by her constant companion of nine years, her husband, Dennis Braun; loving daughters, Tammy (Terry) Carter, Robin Helton, Theodora "Teddi" Parsons; the grandchildren she loved and adored, Bryan Bunn, Tera (Eric) Gonzales, Tyler Helton, and Lindsey "Pooh" Carter. The sunshine and joy of her life was found in her great grandsons, Carter Gonzales and Hunter Helton. She is also survived by her sisters, Debbie Sperko, Brenda Breeding and brother, Clyde James Fitzpatrick.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ted Helton; her parents, Clyde James and Shirley Fitzpatrick (nee: Runyon); and her sisters, Lucy, infant Donna Kay, and Nancy Sue; her brothers, Larry, Tommy, Lyle, Gary "Buck", and David.
Our lives are forever changed and our hearts are forever broken.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 30, 2016, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Harold Hylton, pastor of Lorain Church of God in Sheffield Lake will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp., Ohio.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
