Myron Milo Uehlein

South Amherst: A clipboard holding a crossword puzzle sits unfinished by the chair. Myron Milo Uehlein, our husband, father and brother, left us in the early morning hours of May 8, 2023. The light in our eyes dimmed as we said goodbye. Myron was born November 25, 1951 in Lorain, had lived in Sheffield Lake and had resided in South Amherst for the past 30 years where he raised his family. In 1973, Myron graduated from Akron University with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Business Management. Working at Jones & Laughlin Steel during the summer, he was offered full-time employment in the Accounting Department. As the steel mills fell and rose back up again, he worked for LTV and finally at Arcelor Mittal. He was a proud steelworker. In the last year of his life, he enjoyed talking about and planning the model he wanted to build of the Castor where he worked. Health left the project unfinished but brought him joy and excitement to share his plans. Myron loved boating on Lake Erie and following ore boats and yachts across the world on his computer. He knew where most of the marina cams were located and could describe the Duluth harbor in detail without ever visiting.He loved music, especially the Beatles, rock and blues. He had extensive knowledge of these genres and could give interesting facts and information on the musicians and music. His concert ticket stub collection is legendary as was his strict adherence to the two inches of bourbon left in each bottle. He was a lawn specialist when he mowed. Murph's interests were always intensely researched and studied. He worked and finished his crossword puzzles in pen. He loved his 1979 Vette, hot rods, cars, Formula 1 racing and Golden Retrievers. His dog, Milo, brought him so much joy.Health concerns changed how he approached his interests and hobbies. His many interests kept him engaged and interested in the world around him even when it became harder to navigate outside of his home. A sense of humor, and love for Ah-Ha moments gave him and us so much pleasure. He was not a saint be he taught his sons to do the right thing.Myron is survived by his wife Candace Marie "Candi" Uehlein (nee Hochadel), son Eric Uehlein and his fiancé Darcie Jenkins; son Chad Uehlein and sister Lanie Cargould (Frank). He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Margo Lee Uehlein and his parents Milo B and Albina "Binnie" Uehlein (nee Jancar)The family will receive friends Thursday May 11, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 at 10:00 am at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's choice.
