Phyllis Clark Obituary

Phyllis Ann Clark, age 91, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away unexpectedly on July 18th, 2023, in her Avon Lake home. Phyllis was born in Lima, Ohio on November 1st, 1931, to Daniel and Cora Younkman who preceded her in death in 1981 and 2002 respectively. Falling in love with a tall, charming, and handsome young man, Phyllis married Robert Clayton Clark on May 12th, 1951, with three fortunate and extremely blessed children completing their little family in 1963. Husband, Robert Clayton Clark preceded her in death in 1968.Phyllis's love of life and desire to help others led her to follow a lifelong dream to enter the Nursing Field, graduating in 1984 as an RN. Phyllis touched many lives in the nursing positions she held, leading by example, and supporting by faith until she retired in 2005.There is a space between a person's birthdate and the day they take their last breath. Although miniscule in scale on paper or on a headstone, that space encompasses a lifetime. Phyllis used every inch of that space, blessing those fortunate enough to share her life journey, with love, unconditional acceptance, compassion, gratitude, and endless support. She was everyone's greatest cheerleader, their sturdiest rock, and a sage of wisdom to all willing to hear. She gave of herself in endless ways, becoming a model of living a life led by Christ.Phyllis loved jigsaw puzzles, cooking, watching baseball, deep conversations, the laughter of children and baking her infamous chocolate chip cookies, which we will all attempt to replicate and which we will all fail at replicating. She enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all who will now continue to live a life she would want us to.Phyllis is survived by children, Jeffery Clayton Clark (Lorrie), Robert Clayton Clark III, both in Avon Lake, Ohio, and Patricia Ann Lowman in Amherst, Ohio as well as sisters, Marilyn Hill, Carolyn Potts, Linda Mohn and many nieces and nephews. Additionally, she is survived by Grandchildren, Jason Robert Lowman (Katy), Justin Christopher Lowman (Susan), Jesse Ryan Lowman (s/o Julie) Tyler Matthew Lowman (Amanda), Casey Daniel Lowman, Jessica Sue Freeman (Sean) Madison Campbell (Bryn) and Noah McQuiston. She is survived by 16 great grandchildren who adored her just as much as she adored them. There are many others that Phyllis is survived by. There was no need for a relational blood tie. If Phyllis was in your life, you are family as well, and we encourage you to go forward, spreading her love of life, keeping her memory alive, and loving others as we are all meant to do.Memorial contributions in Phyllis's honor may be forwarded to the APL 8303 Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria, OH 44035 or at www.clevelandapl.orgFamily will receive friends on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 4:00pm â€" 8:00pm at Busch Funeral Home 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon, OH 44011. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 10:30am at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Wickens officiating. Burial to follow at Lakewood Park Cemetery. www.buschcares.com 440.937.6175
