Ronald Ksiazk Obituary

Ronald J. Ksiazk, born on October 15, 1932, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to James and Veronica (Stachelski) passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at home under the care of the Hospice of Western Reserve.Ronald moved with his parents and sister to Lorain as a toddler. He grew up in Lorain and attended Nativity School and graduated from Lorain High School in 1951. While in high school Ron was a pin setter at Rebman's Bowling Alley. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Marines and served for three years stationed in Hawaii. Upon his return to Lorain, Ron worked on the lake boats traveling throughout the Great Lakes and Canada. He then attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering and during that time he took dance lessons. Ron was well known for his dancing abilities especially the polka. The ladies would line up at events to dance with him.He returned to Lorain where he met and married the love of his life, Joyce (nee Supel) in 1958. Ron and Joyce had the joy of celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on February 15, 2023.Ron worked at many companies over the years always sharing his accounting expertise: Thew Shovel, Cleveland Gypsum Plant, B.F. Goodrich, General Industries and finally retiring from the State of Ohio Tax Department. Ron also worked on the side during tax season preparing returns for many.Ron was a devoted family man. As a family they enjoyed many adventures making treasured memories with family and friends. Those special times included traveling, camping, gardening, bowling, hunting, and fishing. Ron was a proud member of the Lorain Polish Fisherman's Club and was the treasurer of the club for several years. He always looked forward to the time he spent with his son and grandson during fishing and hunting seasons. He also enjoyed attending sporting and school events for the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ron was also active in his church communities. While a member of St. Anthony of Padua he ran the Bingo nights, served on the parish finance committee, was a cantor and lector. He used his talents to also perform at the many of the Marian Guild fundraiser shows. He was an usher once joining St. Mary's.Ron always led by example in no matter what he did, and he was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Through the progression of Parkinson's, never once did he complain. He faced it head on and fought as long as he could. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Joyce of 65 years, son Mark (Mary, nee Drop) Ksiazk of Lorain, daughter Debbie (Walt, deceased) Pustulka of Amherst, grandsons Daniel (Crystal, nee Heater) Ksiazk of Amherst, Matthew (Devon, nee Ruen) of Columbus, granddaughter Laura Ksiazk of Fort Mill, SC. great grandsons Jacob, Clayton, and Max. Sisters, Camille (Donald, deceased) Kelsey of Newnan, Georgia, Melaine, (Lawrence) Sukey, Carmel, Indiana, and Jane (Jeff, deceased) Phillips of Elyria. Brother, Albert (Barbara) of South Elgin, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.Ronald was preceded in death by his parents James and Veronica Ksiazk, brother Richard, sister Constance (Steven) Horosz, and son-in-law Walt Pustulka.The family will receive family and friends on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 11th. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 309 W. 7th. Street, Lorain. Rev. Father Daniel Divis, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.The family would like to thank the Mercy Hospital home health therapy team, especially Tom and Mark, the hospice team of Western Reserve and most especially Sue, Ron's caregiver for the past two years. Mark and Mary, Laura, Joyce, and the rest of your family; Karen and i and our family send our condolences to you on the passing of Ron. He always had a smile and was a very dedicated family man. May he rest in peace in heaven.

Mary and I send our deepest condolences to Joyce and family. I have many fond memories of Ronnie as a youngster visiting with my dad/mom and sister Barbara on 20th street in Lorain. My wife,Mary, and I will come to the visitation tomorrow (weather permitting). Again, Joyce we are so sorry to learn of your loss. I am sure Ron is likely dancing the polka in heaven.

Dear Joyce, Mark and Debbie,
I am remembering all of you today and praying for your peace at this time. I remember Ron as such a happy and kind person from my childhood. I just lost a friend to Parkinson“s and it was a long struggle. I hope Ron and all of you did not suffer terribly. May the good memories fill your heart.
