Sarah Arnold Obituary

OBERLIN – Sarah C. (Sally) Arnold, 92, passed away October 22, 2010 at Kendal at Oberlin after a brief illness, surrounded by family.
She was born February 18, 1918 in Dayton, OH; she lived in Oberlin since 1938. Sally was a member of First Church in Oberlin and a graduate of Oberlin College in 1941. She was a member of the League of Women Voters, the 19th Century Club and a life member of the Oberlin Heritage Center. She enjoyed reading and knitting, playing the piano, listening to music, playing bridge with friends at Kendal, bible study, swimming, and traveling extensively in Asia and France. Sally was an enthusiastic Ohio State Buckeye football fan and loved horses and horseback riding.
She is survived by Husband Paul B. Arnold of Oberlin; son Kemper (Julie) Arnold of Rocky River; daughters Peggy Arnold of Longmont, Colo., Tracie (Craig) Hampton of Lorain, Judy (Bill Puett) Arnold of Dahlonega, Ga.; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sister Marjory Dinwiddle of Charlevoix, Mich. and brother Thomas Clagett of Charlevoix, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Elsie Elder Clagett and sister Alice Preston.
There will be a celebration of her life at Kendal of Oberlin on Friday February 18, 2011. There will be a private family burial in Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Resident's Assistance Fund 600 Kendal Dr. Oberlin, OH 44074
Cowling Funeral Home handled local arrangements.
