William R. "Billy" King Sr.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – William R. "Billy" King, Sr. 54, of Charlotte, North Carolina formerly of Lorain, Ohio passed away peacefully on April 25, 2011 in Presbyterian Hospital following a long illness.
He was born on February 3, 1957 in Beckley, West Virginia coming to Lorain in 1974. Mr. King attended Lorain High School and was enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1978 until 1990, leaving with the rank of Sergeant and where he also received the Army Good Conduct Medal, Marksman Qualification Badge for the M-16 Rifle along with the Expert Qualification Badge for Hand Grenades. Mr. King was also a member and DJ for "C-Jay & Company" DJ services in the late 70's & 80's. Mr. King enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters: Avian Knox and Adrianne Syph both of Riverdale, Ga., sons: William King, Jr. stationed in Virginia Beach, Va., Antoine Reed of Tampa, Fla., 8 grandchildren, his companion: Cynthia, his mother: Betty A. King of Lorain, Oh., sisters: Carolyn Ruffin, Marilyn King, Alice Paige and Cheryl Ward all of Lorain, Darlene Lewis of Alabama, brothers: Keith King of Elyria, Richard Burroughs of Mansfield, Oh., aunt: Alice Willis of Lorain, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father: Lester H. King.
Friends may call Friday May 6, 2011 from 10a.m. until time of service at 12 Noon in the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 3700 Clifton Avenue, Lorain, Ohio where Rev. Peter Tower, Pastor will officiate services. Burial to follow in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
