Alfred Martino Obituary
Alfred Martin Martino (Fred), age 76, passed away at his home with family at his bedside on June 19, 2021. He was born in Pittsburg, KS on Oct 8, 1944, to Frank and Virginia Martino.
Fred attended Cherokee KS schools and graduated in the first graduating class of Southeast High School in 1962. He graduated from Kansas State College in 1967 with a B.S. in Business Administration.
In 1967, he married Rebecca Harrison, who survives of the home. Fred worked as a State Farm claims adjuster and agent and as a yellow page salesman. He was a member of the Army Reserves. Fred is also survived by his son Travis and his wife, Joni, granddaughters Sophia and Lola, sister Jerry, and numerous nieces and nephews. He enjoyed playing Minecraft with his younger
granddaughter, Lola, and following his older granddaughter Sophia's softball career.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 28 at 4 p.m. at the Central United Methodist Church in Webb City. Memorial donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation or Golden Paw Animal Shelter can be sent to Midland Cremation Society, 1515 W 10th St Suite B, Joplin MO, 64870.
Arrangements are under the direction of Midland Cremation Society, Joplin.

Fred was a very good friend of my husband's. He became a good friend to me and my kids. He was right there when you needed him. He had the best stories too. You sure left a whole in our lives my friend . RIP

I was a friend and knew Fred from Cherokee Schools. I was a year ahead of him.
Fred had many layers that you had to peel back to see the real Fred. Fortunately I was able to do that and I was able to call him my real friend.
The last time I talked to him he talked about his little grand daughters and how much he adored them and he wished he could live closer to them. He will be missed.

I was surprised to see his name in the obituary , I didn't know he was sick. Fred & I are first cousins.

Too young to pass away. Fred was a year younger and I have fond memories of our time playing football. I will miss hearing his Facebook posts.
