Audrey Hayt Obituary

Audrey D. Hayt, 81, of Girard, died Monday at her residence.
She was born December 23, 1932 in Parsons, Kansas, a daughter of Celib Ray and Erma (Dantic) Hewit.
She grew up in Parsons, graduated from Parsons High School, and worked at the Parsons Theater before moving to Girard in 1957.
Audrey married Doyle D. Hayt on August 23, 1951 in Parsons. They divorced.
She worked at Matthew's Drug Store in Girard for over 10 years and Audrey provided child care in Girard for over 20 years and touched many children's lives.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Girard.
Audrey enjoyed her family including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking for her family, being outdoors and entertaining family and friends.
Survivors are daughters Gail Ashworth and Jeff of Girard and Kim Schwermer and Daryl of Barrington, Illinois; her companion, Larry Vogel of Girard; grandchildren Dustin Johnson and Tonya, Jennifer Howell and Andy, Casey Irish, Kirstin Schwermer, Zach Schwermer, Jeff Cesarz, Misty Gruenes and Joe, Aimee Cesarz and Chris, J. D. Cesarz and Mariam; 3 step-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Deborah Hayt, on March 4, 2009, a brother, Allen Dale Hewit, her sisters Dollie Gilleland and Mildred Endelman.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Girard with Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home where friends may call after 1:30 p.m., Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation and these may be left at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
