Frances Bedene Obituary

Frances 'Peachy' Bedene, 98, of Arma, Kansas died at 4:02 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Arma Health and Rehabilitation Center at Arma, Kansas.

Mrs. Bedene was born June 25, 1918 at Arcadia, Kansas the daughter of James Thomas and Ada Mabel Davenport Fowler.
Peachy was a homemaker who lived in Arma most of her life.
She was raised in Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School.
She served as Chairman and President of the First State Bank in Arma.
She was a member of the Arma United Methodist Church, a member of the Lon Helm Post #182 American Legion Auxiliary in Arma, and a former member of the Eastern Star.
She married John H. Bedene on February 26, 1944 at Pittsburg, Kansas.
Mr. Bedene preceded her in death April 4, 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Becky Bualle and her husband Buddy of Arma, three sons, Brent Bedene and his wife Cindy, Bruce Bedene and his wife Marty, and Barry W. Bedene all of Arma, two sisters, Jo M. Ferraro of Nevada, Missouri and Helen Knoll of Frontenac, a brother, David Fowler of Topeka, Kansas, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Brad Bedene, four sisters, Thelma F. Renfro, Eller Jeter, Ione Guthrie, and Doris Stelle, and six brothers, C. Glenn Fowler, R.W. "Bill" Fowler, John T. Fowler, James V. Fowler, Paul L. Fowler, and George D. Fowler.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Arma United Methodist Church with Rev. Glenn Duderstadt and Rev. K. Lee officiating. David Fowler will give an eulogy. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma. The family will be at the home of Brent Bedene 405 N. 4th Street, Arma, Kansas. The family suggests memorials to the Brad Bedene Scholarship Fund. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.

I took care of peachie for years at the nursing home in arma... She was a wonderful woman and she will be missed by so many R. I. P PEACHIE....
