G. Plunkett Obituary

G. Greg Plunkett passed in a Fort Smith hospital October 21, 2013.
He was born in Del Norte, CO on July 16, 1953, the son of George and Regina Plunkett. Greg was raised in Columbus and graduated from CUHS in 1972. He was united in marriage to Mary Griffitt on Jan. 12, 1974. He was a machinist for 20 years at McNally Manufacturing in Pittsburg, KS. In 1989 he decided to get an engineering degree and went back to school at Pittsburg State University, graduating in 1992.
He is survived by his wife Mary; His two sons, Jess of Fort Smith AR, Jason of Paragould, AR, and a daughter Kristan of Nashville, TN; 5 Grandchildren, Dakota of Mulberry, Jacy and Rayelynn of Herrin, IL, Drake and Titus of Paragould, AR; His mother Regina Plunkett of Columbus; A brother Doug of Sedgewick, KS; 24 nieces and nephews; 24 great nieces and nephews, with a great nephew on the way.
Rosary service will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, at Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus, KS. Father Larry Parker will officiate. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home, after which the body will be taken for cremation.
