John Yoger Obituary
He was born October 23, 1946 in Girard, KS the son of John L. and Ann (Paulin) Yoger. He moved from Girard to Osawatomie in 1956; moved back to the Crawford County area in 1964 where he has remained since. John was a graduate of Osawatomie High School; received his BS in Business Administration in 1968 and his MS in 1975 all from PSU.
John married Jan Lallemand on February 16, 1997 in Eureka Springs, AR; she survives at the home.
He was a self employed Farmer/Stockman his entire life.
John was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; the Blue Lodge, Mirza Shrine, Mirza Chef's, Crawford County Farm Bureau, Kansas Farm Bureau where he held numerous positions within the county and state agencies, he played in area polka bands since 1965 and celebrated in June 50 years of the John Yoger Polka Band.
Survivors include his wife Jan of the home; 3 sons-Mike Yoger of Cherryvale, Dan Yoger of Wichita, Ben Niggemann of Wichita; 2 daughters Denice Robinson of Wichita, Betzi Tarter of Overland Park; 7 Grandchildren-Lexi and Laney Tarter, Kate and Alec Robinson, Luke, Maggie and Hank Niggemann. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Dan Yoger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday October 24, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg with Father Michael Baldwin as celebrant. Following the Mass a private family entombment will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories. Condolences can be sent to www.bathnaylor.com Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriner's Transportation Fund. Memorials may be brought by or mailed to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. I'm sorry to hear about Johns passing. I'm Val ( from Arma Kansas) Blazic's granddaughter Kathy Blazic from Chicago. Every summer we'd drive from here to Kansas, my dad (also Val Blazic) always wanting to get on the road between 3 and 4 am! Every summer we'd get to hear The John Yoger Band! I thought he was so cool!! As an adult, after my dad passed in Feb. 2000, John and I tried to keep in touch. He even came to visit us, to meet my son Jeffrey. He was the kindest family member in all of Kansas! I'm sad that I just found out he passed, I loved him very much. Gods Blessings to you and your family,

Jan and family,
So very sorry for your loss. I was in school with John and we always got to walk together whenever we were lined up alphabetically. He said "they always save the best for last"! John was kind (something I think he learned from his mother) and generous and smart. I appreciated sitting next to him in study hall!!
I pray God will lessen your pain but I also know it just takes as long as it takes.

I had the pleasure of meeting John and Jan in sad circumstances but it was a pleasure and honor to care for John in his last days. He always had a joke for me every morning. He will be missed dearly. Jan and the fmly have our deepest sympathy... God bless you all.

I got to know John when he was on the Farm Bureau membership board and I was the secretary at the time. One afternoon I needed a ride to pick up my car at the coop after an oil change so he offered. Along the ride across town we visited about life in general and he offered a few words of wisdom relating to Girard and traditional ways. I knew at this time he was speaking of experience.He taught me a valuable lesson in that 5 min ride that I will never forget.
He won't be forgotten.
