Kenneth Bowyer Obituary

Kenneth Eugene Bowyer, 64, of Little Rock, AR, passed from this life on Friday, August 14, 2015 from injuries sustained in a fire at his home.
Ken was born September 2, 1950 in Parsons, KS, the son of Paul R. Jr., and Emma Gene (Tull) Bowyer. He spent his early childhood in Coffeyville, Ks moving with his family to Commerce, OK in 1965 and later to Baxter Springs, KS. He was a 1968 graduate of Baxter Springs High School. He graduated from Wichita Barber College in 1969. He served in the United States Army as a MP from 1969-1972 stationed at Ft. Belvoir, MD. He operated several barber shops and was involved in business ventures throughout the four states. He had lived in Little Rock, AR since 1997.
Ken married Marie Nunn, October 20, 1973. They divorced in 1979.
He is survived by his daughter, Kendra Miller and husband Aaron of Carthage, MO; three grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan and Joshua Miller; one brother, Steve Balls and wife Julie of Joplin, MO; one sister, Jackie Grundy of Coffeyville, KS, and four nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel. Burial will follow in the Baxter Springs Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
