Mildred Maxine Simpson

Arma - Mildred Maxine Simpson, 90, of Arma, Kansas, formerly of rural Arcadia, died at 8:40 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Via Christi Hospital at Pittsburg, Kansas.

Mrs. Simpson was born April 26, 1927 at Nevada, Missouri the daughter of Hugh and Addie Newport Willis. Mildred was a homemaker who also worked for Western Insurance in Fort Scott and the A.S.C.S. Office in Fort Scott. She was raised in Hiatville, attended Hiatville Grade School, and graduated from Hepler High School in 1945. She moved to rural Arcadia in 1951 and lived there until moving to Arma in 2008. She married Wayne Simpson on November 4, 1951 in Redfield, Kansas. Mr. Simpson preceded her in death March 18, 2012. She was a member of Mt. Orum Baptist Church in Redfield and the Englevale Grange. Survivors include a son, David Simpson of the home and two sisters, Carol J. Smith of Frontenac and Marjorie Williams of Kansas City, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Debbie Simpson, and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Bedene Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E.
