Died: October 1, 2021 in Joliet, Il
Eugene L. Bricker, 87, of Morris, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, with his loving family by his side. Gene was born March 31, 1934 in Coalport, Pennsylvania, he was the son to the late Paul R. Bricker.
At an early age, Gene and his family moved from Pennsylvania to Illinois where Gene attended the local schools and graduated from Pana High School with the class of 1952. After high school he joined the United States Marines and served during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1956. Gene met the love of his life, Dorothy Zitterbart, in Pennsylvania. They married in 1957 and raised their family in Grundy County. Gene worked as an E&I Technician for LyondellBasell in Morris and Tuscola ,Illinois, retiring in 1992. One of his favorite pastimes was carving animal figures out of wood, which was a hobby he had crafted his whole life. Gene was also an avid golfer and loved taking fishing trips, especially with his son.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy; his children Yvonne Graff and Mike (Kim) Bricker; grandchildren David and Greg Bricker, and Rebecca (Michael) McCutcheon; and the light of his life, great granddaughter Natalie McCutcheon. Gene's siblings Glenn (MaryJane) Bricker, Mary Helen (Neil) Reeser, Ed Bricker and Sam (Tari) Bricker and also numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul R. Bricker.
Private family services will be held. Gene will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Morris with military honors by Morris Color Guard.
