Julia Hennessy Obituary

Julia (Julie) Ann Hennessy
Born: April 8, 1950 in Danville, IL
Died: March 1, 2022 in Wausau, WI
Julia (Julie) Ann Hennessy, 71, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Julie was born on April 8, 1950, in Danville, IL to Stewart and Mary Etta (Knight) Young. Julie graduated from Coal City High School in Coal City, Illinois, where she built a family early in life with three young children. She had a second chance at love when she found the love of her life, James Patrick Hennessy Sr., and they were married on December 21, 1979. James brought four wonderful children into this extended family, and Julie and James welcomed a baby daughter in October 1980. In addition to raising her children and positioning them for success in life, Julie held numerous jobs in her adult life. A theme across all of these roles was serving and supporting others. Whether caring for the elderly and those with special needs or driving a school bus to safely get children to school, Julie found special purpose in caring for others. Julie loved her entire family fiercely, and they returned that love in equal measure. She will be missed terribly, but those who loved her will always feel the positive, lasting impact she has made on their lives.
Julie is survived by her children, Deb (Dave) Miller, Rue (Matt) Tremel, Michele (Jeff) Steichen, Tammy (Doug) Wendt, Michael (Betsy Johnson) Brewer, Jennifer (John) Rexroat, and Cristin Hennessy; her grandchildren, Dennis Hennessy, James (Jessica) Hennessy III, Lecia (Joey) Terrazzino, Amanda (Ben) Menk, Ashli (Dinesh) Indala, Nicholas Tremel, Julia (Jayson) Nowak, Sara Tome, Jordan (Maribel) Agamy, Temi (Brandon) Bennett, Tyler Rithmiller, Nicholas Sielaff, and Caden Collatin; her great-grandchildren, Lexi Frigo, Alyssa Frigo, Lance Terrazzino, Eevie Nowak, and Annie Nowak; her sister, Mary Lou Garbs; many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends; and her loving Pomeranian sidekick, Buddy.
Julie was preceded in death by her husband, James Hennessy Sr.; her mother, Mary Garbs; her father, Stewart Young; her son, James Hennessy Jr.; her grandson, Casey Hennessy; and her siblings, Thomas Young, James Young, Joan Rogers, and Leonard Garbs.
A burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Central Wisconsin's Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI. A celebration of Julie's life will be held at Shamrock Heights Golf Course in New London, WI following the burial ceremony.
