Marilyn Brandt
Marilyn Brandt, age 79, of Morris, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. She was born August 1, 1946 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Marie (nee. Krenger) and Dominic Abinanti.
Marilyn was soft spoken and kind hearted. She cared for all of God's creations, whether it was through her career as medical assistant, a caretaker of the birds in her yard, or as the companion of her grand-cat, Marley. She had the gift of hospitality and loved to be open and provide a warm welcome to everyone she met. She also enjoyed dancing in her younger years, watching her shows, cheering on the Chicago Bears.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Downey; sister, Carol Riemer; and a host of other relatives.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Roland and Richard Brandt.
As it was Marilyn's request, cremation rites have been accorded under the care of Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Morris, IL. The family is planning a celebration of Marilyn's life at a later time.
