Scott Kjellesvik Obituary

Scott "Skully" Leroy Kjellesvik
Born: July 1, 1966
Died: February 14, 2023
Scott "Skully" Leroy Kjellesvik, passed late Tuesday evening, February 14th, 2023 at the home that he built surrounded by his family.
Skully was born July 1st, 1966 in Morris. He was the son of the late Robert "Swede" Kjellesvik and Sandra (Hjemvik) Wehrle. Raised and educated in Morris, Illinois. Scott married Traci Lea Neville on October 25, 2005 in Gatlinburg, TN (The day the White Sox won World Series).
Skully, #63, under the Friday Night lights on the Morris Redskins field, helped lead the team to many victories. 1983 MVP in football. A two-time all conference selection in baseball. (1983) (1984).
Skully didn't stop there. Baseball was his true passion. He started playing under Coach King at JJC in 1985 â€" 1987. Then received a scholarship to Saint Francis University. In 1987 & 1989 Skully played under Gordy Gillespie and Tony Delgado. Stats 15 and 5 as a left handed pitcher "Big Lefty". With his "professional curve ball" named the "Dropping Slider". Skully was an avid sports fanatic. His favorite teams were DA BEARS, and the Chicago White Sox.
You would never see Skully without his tank top, jorts, and work boots. He had so much pride for his family, work, home and wife. He would never miss a moment to spend time with his children or grandchildren. ("Papa was the strongest man I've ever knew" - Finley and Sly) He also taught them the words to the Spiderman theme song. Over and over... Skully was always down for 80's music and dancing in the kitchen â€" what he thought was dancing anyways.
Skully began working for his father, Swede, at Mansards Flooring in Morris. He eventually started his own business with Brent Hexdall (Hexdall/Kjellesvik Flooring Contractors).
He is survived by his wife, Traci, his children, Kyle Hanson, Drew Hanson, Jade Hanson, and Sadie Kjellesvik, all of Morris. Three grandchildren, Grace, Finley and Sly. His stepmother, Lynn "Bobo" Kjellesvik and stepfather Dale Wehrle. Siblings Sherri (Paul) Kuhan, Josh Kjellesvik, Katie Sanders, Dave Wehrle, Jay Wehrle, and Carla Wehrle.
Preceded by his parents, Robert "Swede" Kjellesvik and Sandra (Hjemvik) Wehrle, sisters Stacie (Jerry) Bowlin, Lisa Wehrle, and brother, Steve Kjellesvik.
Skully's Celebration of life will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris on February 20th, 11am-3pm with a luncheon to follow at 4:00 at the Morris VFW.
Private Family burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Tuesday, February 21st 2023.
Preferred memorial contributions may be made to Lightways Hospice in Joliet, Illinois.

I met Skully at JJC in 1985 and played baseball together. I caught him the entire year and often admired his cutting fastball and outstanding knuckle curve.
Skully was just a fun guy to be around and I have many good memories of playing some hard fought games and then unwinding after words with a cold one, as good as his curve was he was a much better person and it was an honor to have known him.
My condolences to his family.

"A Good Man Dances in the Kitchen." It's in the Bible. If it's not, it ought to be.
