Todd Sandeno Obituary

Todd Michael Sandeno

Born: November 18, 1971

Died: January 25, 2021

Age 49, of Morris, IL passed away suddenly, Monday, January 25, 2021 in Nashville, TN. He was born November 18, 1971 in Joliet, IL to the late Kenneth Paul and Diane M. (nee Lardi) Sandeno. He graduated from Gardner-South Wilmington High School with the class of 1990. Member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington, IL. Todd was a co-owner of "D" Construction in Coal City along with his two siblings, Ken and Tami. They are all proud to carry on the legacy their father created. He served on the board of directors for the Contractors Association of Will and Grundy Counties and was a member of the Local #150 Operators Union for over thirty years.

Todd was a wonderful father, who made sure to set aside time to spend with each one of his children. He loved hunting, shooting, and four-wheeling, with the boys, but he also loved to take his little girl shopping, watching live performances like Dancing with Stars and Blue Man Group, and of course four-wheeling. The kids and their friends will never forget Todd's no phone Sunday rules that applied to everyone... except for him. He also had a love for traveling and enjoyed visiting the Cayman Islands with his family. His personality lit up any room and he was always known as a loyal man and the love he had for family will never be forgotten, but only to be passed down to generations to come.

He married his grade school sweetheart, Richelle Romanetto and eventually married February 24, 1996 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. They have three beautiful children, Tyler, Trent, and Raegan Sandeno.

Also surviving are his brother, Ken (Kristi) Sandeno of Morris; sister, Tami (Brian) Hansen of Gardner; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; mother-in-law, Ellen Romanetto of Gardner; father-in-law, Gary Romanetto of Cardiff, IL; sister-in-law, Missy (Chris) Lenzie of Gardner; brothers-in-law, Mike (Diane) Romanetto of Cardiff and Scott (Bev) Romanetto of Coal City; and his four-legged companions, Reese and Willow.

Work was Todd's passion and he considered himself blessed to not only have the immediate family he had, but his work family was just as important.

Preceding him in death were his father, Kenneth P. Sandeno on June 17, 2011 and his mother, Diane M. (nee Lardi) Sandeno on December 1, 1980.

Visitation for Todd will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, Friday, January 29, 2021 from 3-8 p.m. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, follow social distancing guidelines, due to the capacity requirements please be brief with your condolences to allow other guests to pay their final respects. When I think of Todd, I think of three things. First- The ever present smile he always had on his face and his contagious laugh. 2) the energy he brought to everything. He truly did light up the room wherever he was. He always had such a positive attitude. Finally- I think about family. I always referred, in my mind, to Todd, Kenny and Tami as the Three Amigos or Three Musketeers. The brothers that actually shard an office, desks side by side, who did everything together. Their pride in their toy shed that was not about the items in it, but about the stories of the trips and adventures created in them. They always told a story that made you feel like you were there. The stories about his kids he would share. Insisting that I bring my husband with to a Blackhawks game with them because getting to know the families of those they choose to do business with was important to them. Family first. I am truly sorry for your loss. The song “Only the Good Die Young” keeps popping into my mind, as well as “Here I Am” a classic Catholic Church song. The angels got themselves a good one in Todd. His legacy of love-for life, family and friends will definitely live on through the lives of all those blessed enough to know him.

Unemployed, I sat in front of the D office from 5am to 9am for about a week. Probably passed by 50 guys a day. Then Todd walks up and has about a 5 minute conversation with me. I was hired right after. I'm just a laborer. He owned the biggest Construction company around and when I talked to him he treated me like an equal. Much respect. Deepest condolences to his family. May God restore your hearts with time.
