Alfred "Al" Julius Haehnel, age 90, of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at Benedictine Assumption in Cold Spring.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Graham United Methodist Church in Rice. Pastor Cassi Betker will officiate. Burial will follow at Graham United Methodist Cemetery in Rice. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11:00 at the church prior to the service.
Al was born on December 17, 1934, in Sauk Rapids to Fred and Adelaide (Doeden) Haehnel. He married Beverly Kuehn on August 13, 1977. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1962 during the Korean Conflict. Al farmed for many years, then hauled boats for St. Cloud Marine, then Marson, driving a dump truck.
Al enjoyed his time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at the family cabin, playing 500, and relaxing with his favorite Westerns.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of 48 years; four stepsons, Doug (Nancy) Kuehn, Daryl (Lois) Kuehn, Dale Kuehn, Don (Carissa) Kuehn; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Zoey, Joshua, Michelle, Erin, and Brittany; seven great-grandchildren, Payson, Kayley, Hayden, Ryker, Emersyn, Juniper, and Penelope; sister-in-law Shirley and brother Ernest (Diane).
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Laura Schroeder, and brothers Erwin and Verner.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Benedictine Assumption and to CentraCare Hospice for the loving and compassionate care that was given to Al.

Al was the nicest guy. I sure miss all the fun we had as kids when we had family get togethers on the farm. It was a great time to be together with family. He will be missed. RIP Al. Til we meet again, cousin.
