Jimmy Allen Weiss, born in Fergus Falls, MN on April 7, 1950, peacefully passed away on January 26th. He was the beloved son of August and Amy (Haarstad) Weiss. On August 19, 1972, Jimmy married Linda Sorum. Jimmy was a graduate of Moorhead State, earning a degree in accounting in 1972. Throughout his distinguished career, he contributed his talents to various companies, including Silverline Boats, Arctic Cat, Larson Boats, Genmar Industries, Home Savings, and Larson Motor Service.

In his youth, Jimmy was a skilled shortstop for numerous slow-pitch softball teams and a competitive doubles tennis player. He found joy in fishing and hunting with the Esquagamah Sportsman. However, golf eventually became his passion, and he spent countless hours at the Little Falls Country Club. He competed in league with his team Just Jims, affectionately known as the Jim Tonics.

His commitment to the community was exemplary. Jimmy played a vital role in founding Golfers Organized for Little Falls, showcasing his dedication to the golfing community. He also served in leadership roles, including president and treasurer of First Lutheran Church, Purple Carrot Board of Directors, Hospital Board of Directors, president and treasurer of the Friends of Linden Hill and the Exchange Club. His outstanding service was recognized when he received the prestigious Golden Deeds Award in 2019.

Jimmy is survived by his wife; daughter, Katie (Matt Erickson) of Minneapolis; sons, Phillip (Tracie) of Bozeman, MT and Steven of Boulder, CO. He is also remembered by siblings, Daryl (Deb) Weiss of East Grand Forks, Ann (Dennis Mark) of Spokane, WA; and granddaughters, Ella, Berit, and Wendy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Ginger Weiss; and brothers-in-law, Bucky Sorum, Arnie Ness, and Chuck Meyer.

Jim's family would like to acknowledge the CHI Hospice Team and the Diamond Willow Family.

In loving memory of a fine man. We knew Jim through GOLF and were part of the team for the 12 years that he served on that committee. We thoroughly enjoyed working with him. He used his skills and quietly did his job. We only have good things to say about him. Our sincere sympathy to you, Linda, and your family. We will continue to keep you in our prayers in the weeks and months ahead. Dave and Allyson Lundeen.
