MOUNT GILEAD — Amy S. Hinkle, 59, of Mount Gilead, passed away Friday evening, July 28, 2017, at the Van Wert County Hospital following a brief illness.
Amy was born on January 29, 1958, in Cleveland, OH, to the late Richard L. Hamsher and Allegra B. Hamsher whom survives. In 1976, Amy graduated from Mount Gilead High School where she enjoyed playing flag football and being on the track team as a shot put thrower.
After high school Amy, went to Cosmetology School, where she began working as a hair dresser. Amy had also worked in several local restaurants in the area. Later, Amy began working at Burcliff Industries in Cardington. Amy went on to retire from Cardington Lincoln High School as a custodian.
Amy enjoyed going antiquing and motorcycle riding. She also enjoyed fishing at one of her favorite spots- Pleasant Hill. With a love for music, Amy was fond of many genres. Some of her favorites were; The Beatles, Bob Seger, and the Eagles to name a few. As an avid OSU football fan, Amy loved to root for the Buckeyes. She had special place in her heart for cats. Amy had a compassion for people, and she knew no stranger.
Most importantly, Amy loved her family. She was continually interested in her nephews, Carl and Taylor, lives and fulfillments. Amy was extremely proud of her grandson Alex's accomplishments, whom she loved dearly.
She will be extremely missed by her daughter, Sara (Danny) Jones, and grandson, Alex Bell of Waldo; mother, Allegra Morrison of Millersburg; sister, Patti Hamsher-Jackson of Shelby; and nephews: Carl Jackson of Wyoming and Taylor Jackson of Arizona.
Amy was preceded in death by her father, Richard L. Hamsher.
A service to celebrate Amy's life will be held at 6:30 p.m., on Monday, August 7, 2017, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel. (67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead) Chaplain Jeff Slider will lead the celebration of life Service.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Morrow County Humane Society and/or to Morrow County Hospice.

I am saddened to learn of Amy's death. I knew Amy and Sarah when we participated in a grief workshop 20ty years ago. I have seen her occasionally over the years.
