C. Nesbitt Obituary

MOUNT GILEAD -C. Edward "Ed" Nesbitt, age 84, of Mount Gilead, passed away Monday morning, February 26, 2024, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.

On December 3, 1939, Ed was born in Morrow County, Ohio, a son of the late Burton C. and Charlotte Elizabeth (Dunfee) Nesbitt. He graduated from Mount Gilead High School in the Class of 1957 and served his country in the Ohio Army National Guard for six years.

Ed married the love of his life, Judy Ann Linstedt, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cardington on September 1, 1962. They shared the last 61 years together as husband and wife. Ed was a family man and enjoyed birthday parties, reunions and other family functions.

For 34 years, Ed worked as a lineman for Ohio Edison. He then worked for Osborne Construction and Linder Brothers Farms.

A man of faith, Ed was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Gilead, where he was very active in every aspect of the church. He volunteered with the Over the Hill Gang at Flying Horse Farms, helped build houses for Habitat for Humanity and was a member of the Jaycees and the Lions Club.

Ed was an avid gardener and loved to be out mowing the lawn on his zero-turn mower. He also spent a lot of time fishing and woodworking. He always had to be doing something. Ed was a passionate fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. He absolutely hated "that team up north."

Left to cherish Ed's memory are his wife, Judy, of Mount Gilead; two daughters: Robin Nesbitt and Kelly Nesbitt, both of Columbus; a sister, Sarah (Bert) Koppel of Sacramento, CA; a nephew, Michael Koppel; and a niece, Melissa (David) Kirk.

Ed's family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Mount Gilead Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services to honor and celebrate his life will begin there at 1:00 p.m. with his nephew, Rev. Dr. Michael S. Koppell and Rev. Scott Schnapp officiating. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Gilead or to Flying Horse Farms.
