Doyle Ogden Obituary

Doyle "Augie" Ogden, 71, of Galion passed away Monday, October 10, 2016, at MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield after an extended illness.

Born August 20, 1945, in Marion, he was the son of William "Bart" and Lenna (Hull) Ogden. He is survived by his bride of 51 years, Sandy L. (Turner) Ogden, on June 19, 1965.

Doyle was a graduate of Highland High School in 1963 and worked for the former PECO in Galion, later working at General Motors where he retired in 2006 after a 37 ½ -year career. He was a member of the UAW Local 549 of Ontario and the First Presbyterian Church in Galion where he was a greeter and "cookie eater." Doyle enjoyed fishing, working on his cars, and traveling to Key West. He was lovingly devoted to his family, especially his "grandbabies," and liked it when he was called "PA."

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Beth (Chris) Heidenreich of Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Kim Axline of Newark; grandchildren Jillian, Kaleb, Alyssa, and Daniel; brother Bob (Pat) Ogden of Chesterville; sister-in-law Marilyn Ogden of Mt. Gilead; brother-in-law Jim (Jody)Turner of Galion; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Richard Ogden.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2016, at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 15. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Cancer Care Unit and Intensive Care Unit at MedCentral Hospital for the loving care they gave to Doyle.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society and the First Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
