MARENGO - Robert L. "Bob" Sutherland, age 90, of Marengo, passed away Wednesday evening, February 11, 2026, at The Inn at Walnut Trail in Sunbury.
On April 14, 1935, Bob was born in Colley, Virginia, the son of the late Victor D. and G. Hazel (Owens) Sutherland. He graduated from Marengo High School with the Class of 1953.
Bob devoted much of his professional life to his talent as an industrial illustrator, spending 20 years with HPM Corporation in Mount Gilead, followed by another 20 years with Marion Power Shovel.
Bob was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Gilead and faithfully served on the Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services Board for many years.
On December 20, 1976, Bob married Barbara Lee Geyer. Together they shared 47 years of marriage until her passing on July 29, 2024.
Bob was a gifted artist and accomplished painter. He loved being outdoors tending to his yard and garden and keeping the bird feeders full for his feathered friends. He also enjoyed attending local high school football and basketball games.
Bob is survived by sons, Michael (Cindy) Sutherland and Robert A. Sutherland; his stepchildren, Kimberley (Dave) Bevan, Tammy (Mike) Kreider, Lee Ann (Tom) Cooper; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Mason, and his brother, Jimmy Sutherland.
In accordance with Bob's wishes, no services will be held. He will be laid to rest in Fulton Cemetery.
