SUNBURY -- William Dane Scholl, age 85, of Sunbury, died peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Countryview of Sunbury. Dane was a lifelong, happy farmer. He was born January 9, 1938, in Berkshire Township to the late Daniel B. and Juanita O. (Wilson) Scholl. He graduated from Big Walnut High School. Proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Dane was a member of the Sunbury Church of the Nazarene. His participation in Work and Witness missions where very important and meaningful to him. Dane enjoyed designing and building his own farm implements, fishing, working in his shop, perusing garage sales, traveling and wintering in Florida.
In addition to his parents Dane was also preceded in death by brothers, Richard and Mark Scholl.
Dane is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Donna L. (Brush) Scholl; devoted sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Stacie Scholl of Centerburg, Darin and Karly Scholl of Kansas City, MO; sister, Sharon Luft of Oklahoma; brother, David Scholl of New Mexico; grandchildren, Rebecca, Kayleen, William, Joseph and Luella; many "adopted" grandchildren, including Peter, Leah and Sam.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Snyder Funeral Homes – DeVore Chapel, 637 N. State Route 61, (at SR 3/36), Sunbury, where a Funeral Service with military honors will be held at 11 AM on Monday. Pastor Keith Martinez officiating. Private family interment.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Heifer International (heifer.org) in Dane's memory.
