Barbara Scalzo Obituary

Barbara A. Scalzo 1944 - 2008 RUSHVILLE - Barbara Scalzo, 64, passed away Aug. 2, 2008 at F.F. Thompson Hospital. Barbara was born July 20, 1944 in Rochester to the late Frederick and Mary Maxwell Dixon. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing and had been a registered nurse at St. Mary's, Strong Memorial and F.F. Thompson hospitals and retired from the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua after 21 years of service. She later worked for Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic. Barbara was a member of St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua. She is survived by her husband, Frank B. Scalzo Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Christopher M. Scalzo and Hanney Sarkis-Scalzo; grandchildren, Rachel, Christina and Thomas Scalzo; sister-in-law, Sandra Dixon; brother-in-law, John (Gerry) Petrilli; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Dixon. There will be no calling hours. Barbara's funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. I knew Mrs.Scalzo from Schooners Restaurant. She came in every week with a Smile on her face like she had no cares in the World. She will be missed by all. Prayers go out to all her Family.
