David Cook Obituary

David Edwin Cook GORHAM - David Edwin Cook, age 76, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, April 27, 2018. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 47 years, Addie Chase Cook. He is survived by his brother, Lawrence Cook; son, Christopher (Jennifer) Cook; daughter, Adeline (Kurt) Rudolph; four grandchildren, Erich, Addie, Morgan and Elijah; significant other, Donna Marbach; and faithful hound, Alba. Dave was born in Townline, N.Y., and was the son of H. C. and Elizabeth (Maurice) Cook. He was raised in East Aurora, N.Y., graduated from East Aurora High School in 1959 and was a 1963 graduate of Bucknell University. Dave married the love of his life, Addie Kamke, in 1966 and spent the ensuing years in Maryland and Illinois before settling in Canandaigua in 1982. He was an entrepreneur who owned several businesses and founded SDLC Inc. in Canandaigua. Dave was a member and former president of the Canandaigua Rotary Club and recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award. He served as a deacon at the First Congregational Church; and volunteered for United Way, the National Kidney Foundation, Granger Homestead, Gorham Environmental Board, Gorham Republican Committee and countless other local organizations. Dave was a sports enthusiast and animal lover who enjoyed living on beautiful Canandaigua Lake and golfing with his lifelong buddies from East Aurora.
