Frederick Stewart Obituary

Frederick C. Stewart 1928 - 2008 CANANDAIGUA - Frederick "Fred" Stewart, 80, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at F.F. Thompson Hospital. Fred was born Jan. 25, 1928 in the town of Lodi, N.Y. He was a graduate of Interlaken High School and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He had been a heavy equipment operator for several years. He retired in 1995 after 20 years with the Town of Perinton Highway Department, serving the last 11 1/2 years as deputy highway superintendent. He was a member of the American Legion and the Livingston, Wayne, Monroe and Ontario counties' highway superintendent associations. Fred was also a longstanding member of Lafayette Diner Coffee Club. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Katherine "Katie;" sisters, Evelyn Georgia and Eleanor Swartz, both of Ithaca, N.Y., Betty Reynolds of Troy, Pa. and Agnes Morris of Homer, N.Y.; brothers, Thomas (Carol Carnahan) Stewart of Caywood, N.Y., Bert (Yvonne) Stewart of Trumansburg, N.Y. and Harold (Barbara) Stewart of Interlaken, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Fish; and brother, George Stewart. Friends may call Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Livonia.
