James Mattice Obituary

James Patrick Mattice Beloved son and brother SHORTSVILLE/TULSA, Okla. - James Patrick Mattice, 57, died on Dec. 31, 2010 in Tulsa. Patrick was born on Nov. 24, 1953 and was the son of Thomas W. and Jeanette Mattice of Farmington. He was a graduate of Red Jacket High School and later Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa. He worked on a local farm for several years. During this time, he took flying lessons and obtained his pilot's license with a dream of owning his own plane. He worked for American Airlines in Tulsa for 25 years. He lived simply and was very generous to family and friends, always willing to give a helping hand on any project. Patrick was predeceased by his father, Thomas W. Mattice. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean; step-sons, Robb and Kale Hanner; mother, Jeanette Mattice; brothers, Michael (Pam) Mattice of Illinois and Timothy (Nancy) Mattice of Texas; sister, Colleen (George) Bleichert of Port Gibson; and many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services and burial in Shortsville will be held at a later date.
