Ellen Polimeni has been a Canandaigua City Council women and most recently the Mayor of the City of Canandaigua for many years. Very few have ever devoted so much time and tireless energy in good faith efforts for the betterment of Canandaigua.

One person has been the single most loyal and devoted supporter of her efforts-encouraging all of Ellen's political ambitions, supporting her time devotions on evenings and on weekends ; being a rock- and a person to confide in or to talk to after tough city business meetings-invariably and quietly standing by her side -her husband John Polimeni.

John also stood by the side of fellow veterans -assisting them in finding housing, jobs, advancing their educations, and helping their families.

Canandaigua is better off as a result of his commitment to the community.

Ellen, We are so sorry to read about John's passing. He was a wonderful man. We are in Florida and will be unable to attend his funeral, but our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. John always had a smile and a funny word whenever we saw him and we both loved working for him at Trim Dry Cleaners in the 60's. Love, Judy and Ronnie Smith
