Lyle Bolton Obituary

Lyle B. Bolton 1921 - 2008 DANSVILLE/WAYLAND - Lyle B. Bolton , 86, of 10358 Jacobs Road, Dansville and formerly of St. Johns Street in Wayland, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008, at the home of his daughter Linda in Rochester. Lyle was born Aug. 27, 1921 in Perry, N.Y. and was the son of Bains and Charlotte Duesenbery Bolton. Lyle spent his early life in Perry but the majority of time was spent in Wayland prior to moving to Dansville. He married the former Mildred Jensen on March 9, 1947 in Rochester; they spent almost 60 years of marriage together prior to her passing away in 2007. Lyle was employed as a methods engineer for Foster-Wheeler Co. for 38 years. After retirement he enjoyed driving a bus for ARC for over 10 years. He enjoyed playing the accordion and played with the Boiler Makers and also had a radio show at the Blue Goose. He played at many private parties, American Legions, the Canandaigua Lady, various nursing homes and also for his dogs. Lyle was predeceased by his wife, Mildred; and three brothers, James, Leon and Oscar. He is survived by his children, Richard (Mary) Bolton of Rushville, William Bolton of Dansville and Linda Bolton of Rochester; grandchildren, Steve, Randi, Vicki, William and Wendy Bolton, Arianne and Fredora Evans, David (Cindy) and Gary (Cindy) and Laura Raskopf; two sisters, Mary Applin and Marjorie Shepard, both of Wayland; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 W. Naples St., Wayland. Funeral services will immediately follow the conclusion of calling hours. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions in Lyle's name may be made to Dansville Rescue Squad, Franklin Street, Dansville, NY 14437.
