Roger was such a wonderful man. Even though he was a star athlete, he always showed so much interest in my accomplishments whenever I was lucky enough to visit with him. It was so nice to see him still smiling at my Grandma Worboys funeral. I hope all the other Woods are doing well. love, Rachel

It was an honor to care for Roger during these precious final days. I will always remember his strength, courage, and good nature, that he kept always. He is fortunate too, to have such a wonderful family. My deepest sympathies to you all.

I'll never forget the day I met Roger Wood Sr., my future father in law. I walked into the beautiful home that he and Mary Ellen lovingly restored in Canandaigua...He greeted me with a big hug, and such a sincere, and loving heart,,that mine melted. I feel fortunate to be one of the lucky people to have known such a dear man.

Mary Ellen and sons----I fully expected to hear of Rog's death before this week's call from Dick Gray as he and Kay were rushing to the airport. Having visited with Rog at Christmas and seeing his weakend condition, I was surprised that he was able to put up such a strong fight right to the end.
I first got to know Rog when he twisted my arm to join Delta Upsilon at Hamilton. From that point on he was a friend and in many ways a mentor---telling me which classes to avoid, where to find a date etc. We had, as I'm sure you heard more than once, the distinction of playing b-ball together on Hamilton's only winless team. Despite that record we had a terrific time during that season and one other before Rog graduated.
All in all the friendhhip lasted almost 58 years. At Hamilton we had an immeasurable amount of fun. Rog was a man's man--- a good athlete with a modest demeanor--in short a pal that was fun to hang out with.
We won't be with you at the funeral and like Kay and Dick, regret that that will be the case. We send our sympathy, prayers and love to all of the family. Joan and Jim
