Annie Moore Obituary

Mrs. Annie Pearl Moore was born August 31, 1937 to Willie B. Johnson and Lee Etta Johnson in Collierville, Tennessee.

Annie gave her life to Christ at an early age at St. Mark M.B Church and remained a faithful, dedicated and "present" member where she held leadership positions as a Young Adult Choir Member, an Usher, a Sunday School teacher and a Mother before she departed from her earthly life. Annie was also a Lifetime Member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Trezevant St. Neighborhood Watch Association.

Annie retired as a dedicated and loyal employee at the Memphis Country Club where she embraced and established formative relationships with people of all races, nationalities, ages, economic status, religions and genders. Annie always had an outgoing, charming personality and an abundance of energy that she exhibited daily.

Annie had an intentional and unconditional love for all of God's living creations. She started her life daily taking care of her two dogs, her 12 cats and their hungry friends, and any person that stopped by her home for food, money or shelter. Annie was a true lover of the outdoors. She spent at least four hours daily, picking up sticks, from her yard, paper from the streets, and cans from the curbs to give to the "Can Man". Annie was affectionately known as "Momma Moore" in her neighborhood because she gave them lots of motherly attention.

Annie peacefully departed this life to be with God at her home surrounded by love ones on October 3, 2025. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Willie B. and Lee Etta Johnson; two beloved children, Gladys Galloway and Robert Moore; siblings, Willie B. Johnson Jr., James Lewis Johnson, Isaac Johnson, Florida Holland, Annie Johnson, Stella Thomas, and Earnestine Echols.

Left to cherish her beautiful memories are her daughter, Flora; sons, Melvin and John; brother, Calvin Johnson, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, devoted church members and friends.
