Amin Hajar Obituary

Amin "Sammy" Hajar
04/26/1951 - 10/25/2025
Amin "Sammy" Hajar, 74, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Sammy was born on April 26, 1951, in Shweikeh, Palestine, to Amineh and Abdel Karim Hajar. He was raised in Kuwait City, Kuwait, and later attended the University of Jabalpur in India, where he earned degrees in English, History, and Political Science.
A true entrepreneur at heart, Sammy embodied the spirit of perseverance and determination. Arriving in the United States with little more than the clothes on his back, he went on to live the true definition of the American Dream. Beginning his career in the Permian Basin in the 1970s as a roughneck, he worked tirelessly to build a successful life. Over the years, he owned and operated businesses across nearly every industry imaginable. Through his success, he generously supported not only his immediate family but also his parents and family overseas.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Judy; and his sons, Sammy and Mathew.
"Big Sammy" never met a stranger. He brought joy and laughter wherever he went and had an unmatched ability to make people smile, no matter the situation. Known for his humor and larger-than-life personality, you could always find him by following the sound of laughter and the sight of ear-to-ear grins. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched and in the memories of laughter he leaves behind.
In lieu of a formal service, the family invites friends and loved ones to honor Sammy's life by sharing stories and cherished memories. This celebration of life is how he would have wished to be remembered.
