I often reflect on the early days at TTUHSC. We were a small dept and so very close. It was so good to see Dr. Talbert again before his passing. He hadn´t changed a bit. He still had his exuberant personality. He will be greatly missed and remembered.

Very sorry to hear about Major Talbert. I am a neighbor from across the alley. We shared experiences in Army ROTC and service in South Vietnam. I will tell a story on Dr. Talbert. The next morning after 911, Major Talbert was observed driving down the alley pass my driveway in his Mustang convertible. He had his green beret on from Vietnam and was like a lot of us with prior military service, we were ready to go get the sobs. He always called me LT and received a salute. He certainly deserves a slow hand salute. Many thanks to Dr. Talbert for reassuring a first time grandfather when one twin granddaughter (June) ended up in MCH Neonatal Unit while Moma (with an injured knee) and the other twin granddaughter (Kiya) were in the hospital in Midland. A very trying time for our family. Thank you, Sir. You will be missed

I grew up across the alley from him and his family. He also treated my daughter when she was in the NICU.
