Aurelio G. Magallanes

Aurelio G. Magallanes, 80, of Midland, went to be home with his heavenly father on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at his residence. He was born on September 15, 1930, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to the late Jose and Petra Magallanes. He married the late Socorro Magallanes on March 10, 1951, in San Pedro, Coyame. Later the couple moved to Midland in 1968. Aurelio worked in the construction business for most of his life. He loved to spend most of his time with his family and friends and he shared a special bond with his grandchildren. Aurelio was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Petra Magallanes; his wife, Socorro Marquez Magallanes; and his son, Rogelio Magallanes. He leaves behind to cherish his memories four sons, Jose Magallanes of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Enrique Magallanes of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Guadalupe Magallanes and Juan Magallanes both of Midland, Texas; four daughters, Clara Patino, Socorro Magallanes, Mirella Magallanes, and Elizabeth Magallanes all of Midland, Texas; two brothers, Roberto Magallanes of Midland, Texas and Lino Magallanes of Ojinaga, Chihuahua; 37 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. Rosary will be held tonight at 7:00 p.m., at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel. Funeral mass is set for Thursday, June 2, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church with Fr. Gilberto Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were made with Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home.
