Chris Pearce Obituary

Chris Pearce
10/27/1973 - 08/23/2025
David Christopher "Chris" Pearce, age 51, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Midland surrounded by loved ones. Chris was born on October 27, 1973, in Stanton, Texas to David and Mary Pearce. Growing up, he enjoyed football, baseball, band, and scouting. Chris joined the Boy Scouts at the age of seven and reached the rank of Eagle and received the Founder's Award as a young adult. Chris graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Midland. On March 9, 1996, Chris married Amber Lynn Pearce, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. He was the proud parent of Cheyenne Pearce Decampli and Kiah Marie Pearce. Chris's life was a tapestry of achievements and passions. From his early days at the family business, David Pearce Upholstery, to his role as an account manager in oilfield chemicals, he was admired for his hard work, dedication, and success. His interests include hunting, fishing, car racing, and cornhole tournaments, as well as participating in the Texas Indian Hobbyist Association and Lone Star War Dance. His crowning glory, however, was shooting archery with his cousin, Geremy Moore, where he achieved championship titles in both New Mexico and Texas State Archery. But beyond these accolades, Chris will be remembered most for his sense of humor, kindness, strong faith, and unwavering dedication to his family. Chris is survived by his parents, David and Mary Pearce; his spouse, Amber Pearce; his children, Cheyenne and husband, Braxton Decampli, and Kiah Pearce; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, April and Noah Wright; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lyndal and Kimberly McCain; and niece, Dani Wright. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Hazel Pearce, Johnnie and Geneva Merrifield, and his aunt Darla Merrifield. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 27th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Willowbrook Funeral Home, 1311 W. Florida Ave in Midland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, August 28th, at Calvary Assembly of God Church with Pastor Brad Smith officiating. Chris's passing has left a void that can never be filled. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him. Yet, his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, a testament to the profound impact he had on those around him. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to your charity of choice in honor of Chris Pearce. Your generosity will help keep his memory alive and continue the good work he started.

David, Mary, Amber, Cheyenne and Kiah,
Our prayers and love are with you during this very difficult time. Lean
on our Heavenly Father for strength and comfort. We shall all keep his
spirit alive by the great memories we have of him that we will keep in our hearts forever. I was thinking back to memories at the Scout Ranch when Chris would run around knowing everyone and everything there was to do there and the many Order of Arrow events we attended watching him and my nephews dance. There are alot of memories at Hughes Aquatic Camp as well. Those are all awesome times we all had together in our younger days. Chris loved his parents and wife and deeply cherished his girls! Chris has gained his wings and will continue to look over his family and friends. Fly high Chris!
