Codie Hobbs Obituary

Codie Alan Hobbs
12/09/1993 - 11/23/2023
Codie Alan Hobbs, 29, passed away suddenly on Thanksgiving morning, November 23,2023 at his home in Austin, TX. His love of life did not end with his death, his legacy will live on with those who choose to live their lives to the fullest, just as he did. Codie will live on in the hearts and memories of those who loved him.
Codie was born on Dec. 9,1993 and grew up in Midland,Texas with his Mom, Paulette Casey, his Dad, Kenny Hobbs, and big sister, Courtney Hobbs. At the age of 5, Chris Casey came into his life as his stepfather and loved him as his own. Shortly after, Codie's younger brother, Christopher, joined the family.
He was a happy child, throughout his life he was the guy to make others laugh and people were easily drawn to him. When he was young, he enjoyed playing soccer. Then later he attended Alamo Jr. High where he played the cello and Football. Later, Codie attended Lee High School in Midland,Tx. where he would meet several life-long friends.
He was never afraid to try new things and had a passion for life, art, cooking, music, and outdoors. Some of his favorite times were spent with family on vacations, hanging out with his friends, skateboarding, checking out a local band, and relaxing after work.
Codie grew up cooking beside two great grandmothers and a grandmother. He believed that the best chef's learned in the kitchen with hands-on experience. Codie worked in several kitchens and began his career as a Sous Chef at UT. His biggest pride was his culinary skills and enjoyed them with family and friends. Codie began working at Justine's Brasserie ( a French Restaurant) where he was welcomed into their fold and learned to hone his skills beside some of the best Chef's in Austin. He worked hard to advance, and dreamed of becoming a Head Chef. With a promotion on the horizon, he was well on his way. His work ethic and goals had Justine's grooming him for management and will forever be a part of the Justine's family.
Friends and family will tell you about his sense of humor and goofy, fun loving personality. He was determined, artistic, and fiercely loyal to those close to him. Codie would tell you, "As much as I am closed off, those that knew me, knew I carried my heart on my sleeve".
Not a day will go by that he won't be missed, but we also know that one day, "We'll see you space, Cowboy".
Cody's internment is entrusted to the Neptune Society of Austin with a private viewing on Dec. 1, 2023. The entire family would like to thank Tiffany Allen for all of the care and support during this time.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a future date in both Austin and Midland, Tx.
