Daquina Machuca Obituary

Daquina S. Machuca, age 70, of Midland, TX went to be with the Lord, May 30, 2025 with her family gathered by her side. She was born January 16, 1955 to the late Jesus Silvas and Thomasa Garcia Silvas in Pecos, TX.
Daquina was a very loving, caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a very cheerful person, always smiling and friendly. She enjoyed cooking especially for her family. She also enjoyed visiting family and friends. Daquina liked to visit second hand shops and had a knack for sewing. She was employed by MISD for over 20 years in the cafeteria. Daquina was very patriotic and loved her country. She is loved beyond belief and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Macrina Destephen, sons; Jesse Machuca, Angel Silvas, sister Sandy Orona, brothers; Tommy Orona, Melvin Orona, Fred Orona, numerous grandchildren as well as many extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Thomasa Silvas, her husband of 25 years before he passed: Jose B. Machuca, son Chapo Machuca, brothers Jesus Silvas, Suki Orona, and Bibiano Silvas.
A visitation will begin Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 10:00am to 8:00pm at Avalos-Sanchez and Thomas Funeral Home Chapel, 1502 N Lamesa Rd. Midland, TX 79701. A funeral service will be held Thursday June 5, 2025 at 10:00am at Avalos-Sanchez and Thomas Funeral Home Chapel with interment to immediately follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Ale Machuca, Chayanne Aguirre, Xavier Machuca, Christian Rodriguez, Phoenix Rodriguez, Bibiano Machuca, Joshua Machuca.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Avalos-Sanchez and Thomas Funeral Home and Chapel. Online condolences can be made at asancheztfh.com
