David Rydell Obituary

David Todd Rydell
03/02/1955 - 01/28/2024
David Todd Rydell, 68, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, entered heaven to meet his precious Savior on January 28, 2024.
David was born to Marjo and Harold Rydell in San Angelo, Texas on March 2, 1955.
David grew up in Odessa, Texas but moved to Midland in early adulthood. He lived in Midland while raising his children and called it home for most of his life. David also lived and worked in New Mexico, Arizona and California. He grew to love the beauty and people of California, which is where he lived the last 12 years of his life - but Texas was always closest to his heart.
David was a master heating and air conditioning technician, constantly learning and growing in his trade, eventually becoming service manager, then part owner of Claire's Heating and Air Conditioning in Midland. He considered it one of his ministries, to serve the people of his community and churches, often going out on late calls to repair an HVAC unit when no one else would. He thought of his position at Claire's Services and then as lead technologist at Edwards Life Sciences in Irvine, California, as his favorites in his many years of work. He was a hard worker, and he did it to the glory of God.
David was a devoted and faithful follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a dedicated member of Kelview Heights Baptist Church and Stonegate Fellowship, serving in several different ministries within the church. He felt blessed and loved opportunities to go on mission trips to repair the homes of people who had lost their's in natural disasters. He had a desire to tell anyone he could about his Savior.
David was a natural athlete with great agility who loved the outdoors, even into his early 60's. He loved snow skiing, hiking, bicycling, Rydell family reunions, the dozens of men's Bible studies he was able to be part of, his family, and his Savior.
A memorial service to honor the life of David Rydell will be held on March 2, 2024 at Kelview Heights Baptist Church in Midland, Texas at 1pm.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marjo and Harold Rydell.
David is dearly missed by his devoted wife, Carol Rydell (California); his children, Marleah Reed and husband Robert (Midland), Amy Rydell (Dallas), Johnny Rydell and wife Natasha (Midland), Jake Rydell and wife Ember (Midland), Samuel Rydell (Midland), his bonus California kids, Kristen Hendrickson and husband Tommy, and Ryan Bagwell; his 12 grandchildren - Maia, Dawson, Josie, Maddison, Ella, Kyra, Miles, Bentleigh, Bryleigh, Daniel, Devyn, and Olivia, who adoringly called him Papa; his brothers Tim Rydell and wife Sheri, and Hal Rydell; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
