Dorothy Gamblin Obituary

Dorothy Jean Gillespie Gamblin, wife of Wade L. Gamblin, mother of Linda Welden and husband Fred, Leland Gamblin and wife Mary, Patty Rose and husband Larry, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2008.

She was born in Oklahoma on October 7, 1928 and was a resident of Midland since 1948. Dorothy devoted her life to her husband and children; she selflessly always put their needs and wishes above her own. She was a faithful servant of God and attended Woodcrest Drive Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Gillespie and her parents, John and Clara Gillespie.

Dorothy is also survived by Johnny Gillespie, James Gillespie and Barbara Weems; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home Tuesday, February 5, 2008 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Funeral Services have been scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Smitherman officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas.
