Eddie Gamboa Obituary

On February 5, 2022, God wrapped His loving arms around Eddie Gamboa welcoming him to his heavenly eternal home. Upon his arrival he was reunited with his dearly beloved mother Cristina, brother Blas, grandparents, extended family and friends. He will also be reunited with his cherished dog Max. Eddie was born in Stanton, Texas on May 22, 1960. He was raised in Midland and was a native Midlander. He loved cooking, photography, traveling, and golfing with his brothers. He was an avid sports fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and the San Antonio Spurs. He is survived by his loving wife, Silvia Ochoa-Gamboa, and his three children, Cristina Gamboa and Jennifer Humphrey, Samantha R. Gamboa and husband David Ramirez, and Philip Ed Gamboa; four grandchildren, Anthony Arballo, Kaitlynn D. Gamboa, Joshua A. Ramirez and David J. Ramirez. He is also survived by his father Cruz M. Gamboa, brothers Ramon Gamboa and wife Christi, Saul Gamboa and wife Joann, sister Gabriella Franco and husband Cesar. He will also be remembered by his parents in-law, Fernando and Sally Ochoa, and brothers-in-law, Fernando Ochoa Jr and wife Erica, Hilbert Ochoa and wife Katy, Ruben Ochoa and wife Cecilia and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Eddie and Silvia met in Midland and married on September 27, 2008. He was her best friend, the love of her life, fervent supporter and constant encourager. His love for Silvia overflowed. Silvia adored Eddie, he was her constant companion, confidant, and she loved his easy going nature, sense of humor, joy for life and faith for God. He graduated high school in Midland, Texas. His gift of attention to detail served him well through years of employment at Steward Cable, Don Nans and Warren Cat. He was a dedicated, hard-working provider for his family. Eddie had a servant's heart for sharing God's word by singing praise and worship songs. Whenever a dear family member or friend needed him to sing, Eddie never said "No". Eddie loved music. He loved to sing and was blessed with an amazing God given talent. He truly loved his family and had pure joy spending all of his free time attending events and activities for grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members. Eddie was a gifted photographer that possessed extraordinary skill in taking photos that captured family memories. Eddie was a loyal servant to God; he spent many hours dedicating his life to music to share God's Word. Now that Eddie has passed into the arms of God, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Eddie's physical life on Earth, it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for him. The family will receive guests from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel along with a "Celebration of Life" service to take place from 7pm-9pm. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at Community Baptist Church - 5200 W Illinois Ave, with interment following at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.

So sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with the family. I knew Eddie for many years and went to school together. Plus attended the same church. He is now an angel with our good Lord where he can look down on his family.
