Elmo Birkhead Obituary
He was born Jan. 17, 1900 to Bladen and Mary Birkhead in Howard County. After graduating from Coahoma High School, he attended Hardin Simmons University. He married Christine Farrar Aug. 6, 1932 in Carlsbad, N.M. They moved to Midland in 1945. He purchased a feed store that became Birkhead Feed & Seed. His memberships included First United Methodist Church and Grand Lodge of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
He is survived by a son, E.P. Birkhead Jr. of Midland; daughter, Camilla Wallace of Moore; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, 305 N. Baird, Midland, 79701.
