Emma Olgin Obituary

Emma Parras Olgin, 81, of Midland died at her home Friday, January 30, 2009. Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Edward T. de León, OMI, Pastor, officiating.

She was born May 18, 1927 in El Paso and raised in Big Spring by her parents Santos and Domitila Chavez Parras. She loved dancing so much that she and her husband established Las Palmas Ballroom in Midland. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Emma loved shopping for clothing and jewelry and especially loved playing bingo. She lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwardo Ramon 'Lalo' Olgin and her parents.

Emma is survived by daughters, Florinda and husband Genaro Chavez of Austin, Gloria and husband Bill Kirkwood of Midland, Captain Rosario Olgin of Midland and Susanna and husband Cesario Gonzales of Keller; sons, Orlando and wife Dianna Olgin from Lytle, Eddie R. Olgin, Jr. of San Antonio, and Samuel and wife Debbie Olgin of Grand Prairie; step-son, Eduardo 'Lalito' Olgin of Midland; brothers, Sammy and wife Francis Alvarado of Englewood, CO and Phil Mondoza of El Paso; sisters Ruth Del Rio of Denver, CO and Celia and husband Carlos Bejerano of Austin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be directed to Our Lady of Guadalupe, PO Box 7, Midland, Texas 79702.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be made at: www.npwelch.com.

To My Dear beloved Brothers & Sisters
I am happy to let you all know I feel a great sense of Peace and Joy with Jesus to know that Mom is with him and Dad and I have no regrets Because I feel my Prayers and Mom's Prayers where answered. There is no more Pain and no more suffering only Love,Joy and Peace . Thank You Father God in Jesus name I pray Amen.
