Esperanza Jasso Obituary

Esperanza V. "Mom" Jasso, 77, of Montebello, California and formerly of Midland, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2006. She was born on January 29, 1929 in Tierras Nuevas, Chih.

Mom was a loving devoted mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. She enjoyed teaching Spanish, sewing clothes for her grandchildren, crafts, cooking, traveling and always making jokes.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Epigmeno and Rosa Vasquez; her sister, Celestina Rodriguez and her brother, Ramon Vasquez.

Survivors include: her two sons, Benito and Gasper Jasso of California; four daughters, Edna Jasso and Rose Jasso of California, Brenda Jasso of Austin, TX. and Maria Acosta of Odessa, TX.; five sisters, Lola Vasquez, Cruz Calanche, Socorro Trego, Delia Valenzuela and Librada Valenzuela; three brothers, Jesus Jose Vasquez, Juan De Dios Vasquez and Manuel Vasquez; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Benito Jasso, Gasper Jasso, Jacob Castaneda, Lionel Acosta, Juan De Dios Vasquez, Manuel Vasquez, Sonnie Vasquez and Cesar Vasquez.

Funeral Mass has been scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 11, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1405 Garden Lane. Entombment will follow at Resthaven North Mausoleum.
