I just learned of Harvey's passing and was very saddened. Reading the obituary brought back a sudden flood of memories. I worked for Harvey as one of his legal secretaries for 15 years before leaving the firm and New Jersey to move to Arizona in 1999. Harvey was quite a guy - definitely one of a kind. I'll never forget him. I want to convey my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to Carol, Craig and Scott. I know how difficult this must be for all of you but I hope you find some comfort in knowing that he lived a long and happy life, respected and admired by many.

Learning of Harvey's passing caused me to think back on the many years that we worked together in the Hall of Justice. He as an attorney; I as a court reporter. My job was made easier due to his professionalism, and my day was made brighter by his smile and friendliness. He will be sorely missed. RIP.

Harvey was a true gentleman. He always wanted to talk when he would see me in court. I ran into him in Aruba where I was vacationing and considering purchasing a time share. Harvey was an owner and convinced me that it was a great place to bring the grandchildren. Since I had so much respect for his opinion I did make the purchase and have not been sorry. Had I not seen him there I doubt that I would have gone through with it. I will think of him whenever I am in Aruba or any other locale that I have traded my timeshare for. Rest in peace.

I don't know how I could possibly put into words the great heartbreak and loss that I am feeling at the passing of my boss, Harvey M. Mitnick. But to simply refer to him as my boss does not and could not possibly convey the great affection, love and respect that I had for him. I had the pleasure of working by his side for 27 years and was honored that he entrusted me to assist him in the running of his practice. I find it inconceivable that he will not come down the hall again and say, "Come on in Shirl". He was truly a good man and I will miss him every day. Rest in peace Harvey

Hey Harvey, I echo all the sentiments of those who signed your guest book before me but would like to add a few of my own. For so long as I knew you, you led by example. You were civil and professional and the consummate advocate -- precisely because of those qualities -- a model of behavior for our profession. Your sense of humor only added to your charisma. To say you'll be missed is an understatement. Going to Court won't be the same without you.

An old friend who I will miss. RIP Harv, we go back to CHS 52 and I might have been your first client. I remember you telling me I could call you anytime if I was sitting in a jail cell in some backwater town run by hillbillies. Never had to use that service, but nice to keep in mind.

Harv, it's just about 30 years now that I've been with our firm, some of those earlier years working for you, and some for Betty, Scott and our other guys. However, I am so happy and lucky to have worked steadily with you and Shirl for the past 5 years. You called Shirl and me the "A"-Team and told Carol and others that you didn't know what you would do without your girls. I was so happy to have been called one of your "girls" and well, with a heavy heart, I can honestly say: I don't know what we're going to do without you. You were the best Senior Partner, boss and friend that anyone could ever ask for. You were the glue that held us all together. You will stay forever in our hearts. With love, tears and sadness, Shar

Harvey, thank you for being there for me as a mentor and true friend. Whether you barely knew him or was his closest friend, you always knew you were in the presence of a true gentleman and wonderful human being. It has been a real pleasure to work for and with him over the past 17 years. Just know I will still look up to you for advice and counseling and I know you will show me the way. I love you and will miss you until we meet again!

Harvey's passing is such sad news. Wise beyond his years, he never seemed as old as his age. For over 40 years, whether Harvey was my adversary, fellow arbitrator or committee person, or my personal attorney, we were always friends. I don't think Harvey could be mean. A true professional-ever the gentleman. He made me proud to be an attorney. His shoes are simply infillable.

After 72 years of our friendship, I am still amazed that with all of his successes, he never changed;he never veered from the course of his innate good will. Though all knowing, he was never cynical, always ethical, always fair and thoughtful He was a model for us all and a perfect replica of Moe and Ceil, two others that I will never forget.

I go back at least 75 years with my friend Harv. although we no longer live close we were always together on our HS reunion. And who can forget all the fun times we had down the shore when we were teenagers. Also the fun we had with Moe and Kate and parties in his rec room on Baird Blvd. Many of us were a close group and we all miss Harv very much. RIP my friend
