Heather Mitchell Obituary

Heather L. Mitchell, 36, of Midland, passed away at her home on Sunday, February 8, 2009.

Heather was born in Roosevelt, Utah on October 15, 1972 to Thomas H. and Beth Mitchell. She attended Hillander School for eight years, and graduated from Midland High School in 1991. Heather received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Tech University, Lubbock Texas in 1996, and an MBA from UTPB, Odessa, Texas in 2002. Heather was working towards a PhD in Education.

Heather truly loved life and her church at Stonegate, and was a devoted mother to Genna Leigh Anne and Andrew Thomas. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Social Order of the Beauceant. Also, Heather was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, University Graduate Women, Celtic Heritage Society of the Permian Basin, Texas Tech Alumni Association, and involved in Stonegate Fellowship activities.

Heather was employed with United Drilling Fluids and tutored many Midland students in the Sciences and Mathematics.

Survivors include her daughter, Genna Leigh Anne; son, Andrew Thomas; parents, Thomas H. and Beth Mitchell; and uncle, Wayne Mitchell all of Midland; aunts, Theda Pentlin and Linda Simpson; uncles, Loren E. Mitchell and Carl Lee Mitchell and numerous cousins, all of Kansas; her aunt, Muriel Window; uncles, Robin McKay and Howard Lewis; and numerous cousins all of Australia.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be directed to Stonegate Youth Ministries, Attention Tina Parker, 6000 West Wadley, Midland, TX 79707; First Presbyterian Church Missions Fund, 800 West Texas Ave., Midland, TX 79701; Rays of Hope, 900 West Wall Street, Midland, TX 79701; or the charity of ones choice.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 13, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Neil Rogers with Stonegate Fellowship and Pastor Steve Schorr with First Presbyterian Church officiating.
